Project Overview
Qysh.Me was conceived and launched as the first dedicated Albanian-language "how-to" portal. Inspired by platforms like wikiHow, its mission was to provide clear, practical, step-by-step guides on a wide range of topics relevant to users in Kosovo and Albania.
A key aspect was building an active community where users could not only learn but also contribute their own expertise, improving existing articles and adding new guides. The platform aimed to empower users with shared knowledge and skills, while also creating a space for businesses to connect with potential customers through valuable educational content. It grew significantly, establishing itself as a trusted online resource with a large organic following before its eventual acquisition by Dua.com.
My Role & Contributions
As the founder and product owner, my responsibilities spanned the entire lifecycle:
- Concept & Strategy: Identifying the market need, defining the platform's vision (including community contribution), and planning the initial feature set.
- Product Development: Overseeing the design and development process, ensuring a user-friendly interface and scalable architecture that supported community features.
- Content & Community Strategy: Establishing content guidelines, managing initial content creation, fostering community engagement, and implementing systems for user contributions and moderation.
- Growth & Marketing: Developing and executing digital marketing strategies (SEO, social media, content marketing) to build the user base, achieving over 100,000 organic followers on Facebook, and increasing visibility.
- Business Development: Building partnerships with businesses for content contribution and potential monetization avenues.
- Acquisition Process: Leading the platform through its successful acquisition by Dua.com.
Challenges & Solutions (Example)
Challenge: Building a large library of high-quality, relevant content in Albanian from scratch while encouraging community participation.
Solution: Established clear content guidelines, recruited initial writers, and developed features for easy community contribution and editing. Implemented a robust editorial review process for both internal and community content. Leveraged SEO keyword research to prioritize topics with high user demand.
Challenge: Gaining visibility and user trust in a nascent online market.
Solution: Focused heavily on organic growth through SEO and targeted social media marketing, resulting in over 100,000 organic Facebook followers. Built community engagement by encouraging user feedback, content suggestions, and interaction. Partnered with relevant local influencers and businesses.
