Project Overview
Outsource Kosovo (previously Outsource Prishtina) was established as a pioneering platform to bridge the gap between international clients seeking reliable outsourcing solutions and the growing pool of talented businesses in Kosovo. It aimed to provide a secure and efficient marketplace for various BPO services.
The platform facilitated connections, managed communications, and offered an escrow service to ensure trust and security for both clients and service providers. The goal was to showcase Kosovo as a viable and competitive outsourcing destination.
My Role & Contributions
My role involved multiple facets of bringing this platform to life and ensuring its smooth operation:
- Platform Development Lead: Collaborated closely with developers and engineers throughout the entire build process, translating business requirements into technical specifications and overseeing the platform's architecture and feature implementation.
- Project Management: Acted as the central project manager, defining scope, managing timelines, coordinating tasks between technical teams and stakeholders, and ensuring milestones were met.
- Operations Management: Oversaw the day-to-day operations of the platform post-launch, including user support, vendor management, transaction monitoring (escrow), and ensuring service level agreements were maintained.
- SEO & SEM Efforts: Developed and executed search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to increase organic visibility and managed search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns to drive targeted client acquisition.
- Business Development: Contributed to identifying and onboarding both clients seeking outsourcing services and Kosovo-based businesses to list on the platform.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: Building a complex platform involving secure transactions (escrow), user management, and service listings with limited resources.
Solution: Prioritized core features based on an MVP approach. Worked iteratively with the development team, utilizing agile methodologies to adapt to challenges and feedback during the build phase. Leveraged existing secure payment gateway integrations for the escrow functionality.
Challenge: Establishing trust and credibility for a new platform connecting international clients with relatively unknown service providers in Kosovo.
Solution: Implemented a vetting process for listed businesses. The escrow service was a key feature to build confidence. Focused on clear communication, transparent processes, and highlighting success stories and testimonials.
Challenge: Managing the diverse needs and expectations of both international clients and local outsourcing providers.
Solution: Developed clear service level agreements and communication protocols. Acted as a mediator when necessary and established feedback loops to continuously improve the platform and operational processes based on user input.
